

Lincolnshire Lancers are currently third in the table after a competitive and hard-fought first Series Day of the season.
Ash Vamplew captained the Lancers, with Orion Fergie as vice captain, as the team travelled to Sefton RUFC in Liverpool, and their first game ended in a goalless draw against Coventry Corsairs.
Logan Teague, Rich Green and Joe Haggo all scored tries as the Lancers won their next game 3-2 against Nottingham Hurricanes. Ty Donnelly, Gregor Robertson and Vamplew each grabbed one assist.
The next game against Preston Typhoons proved very tough with Donnelly setting up Teague for a try in a 5-1 defeat.
Vamplew and Donnelly both scored tries in a battling 4-2 defeat against Sheffield Vulcans, with Adam Bowers and Teague providing the assists.
The Lancers bounced back in style to end the day with an impressive 3-0 win over Birmingham Longhorns. Jamie Walmsley, Donnelly, and Green all scored tries, with two assists coming from Robertson and one from Hanna Husband.
Donnelly was named as the Lancers’ player of the day for his superb commitment and performances, and his intense drives down the mid, as well as his solid defence, on his first series day.
Captain Ash Vamplew said: “The whole team played phenomenal Huge kudos to the whole team for their flexibility, playing different positions and giving it their all throughout the day.”
The Lancers will return to action for the next series day at Preston Typhoons on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
