Lincolnshire Lancers showed great determination to finish fourth in their third Series Day in Manchester earlier this month.
Captain Ashley Vamplew, Ty Donnelly, and Joe Haggo all scored tries as the Lancers started the day with a battling 5-4 defeat against Thebans.
The Lancers then faced Coventry Corsairs with Logan Teague among the try scorers in a 2-2 draw.
They followed that up with a great performance, including another two tries from Teague and one from vice captain Orion Fergie, securing an emphatic 6-0 win over Nottingham Hurricanes.
The Lancers were in confident mood and a brace of tries from Vamplew helped them to a 5-2 victory over Preston Typhoons, with Owen Elliott and Haggo also among the scorers
The next match was very tough for the Lancers and ended in a 6-1 defeat against Sheffield Vulcans.
However, the Lancers bounced back in style to end the day with an impressive 4-0 win over Birmingham Longhorns, including tries from Vamplew, Teague and Haggo.
The results meant that the Lancers finished fourth on the day and are in second-place in the overall standings.
Lancers captain Ashley Vamplew said: “The team played fantastically well with some amazing gameplay and tries.
“We had Emily Nekrews making her series debut and she played exceptionally well.
“The Player of the Day went to Joe Haggo who produced an outstanding performance from start to finish, making big plays and leading by example all day long.”
The Lancers will return to action in the next series day in Chester on August 8, 2026.
